Convert ANZ statements to Excel
ANZ's two-line transaction details and the wide gap between the details and the amount columns cause generic converters to split rows or drop merchant names. Statements that mix a Withdrawals and Deposits layout with page totals also lead to totals rows being imported as transactions.

About ANZ statement PDFs
- ANZ statements are downloaded as PDF from ANZ Internet Banking or the ANZ app under Statements, with several years available.
- Account statements show Date, Transaction Details, Withdrawals ($), Deposits ($) and Balance ($) columns, with a running balance on each line.
- Dates are in day-first format (DD/MM/YYYY), and the statement opens with an Opening Balance and closes with a Closing Balance and totals.
- Transaction details include labels such as VISA DEBIT PURCHASE CARDLESS, ANZ INTERNET BANKING FUNDS TFER, DIRECT DEBIT and ACCOUNT SERVICING FEE, often with a merchant line underneath.
- ANZ Internet Banking also exports transactions as CSV, OFX, QIF and other accounting formats for recent periods.

Frequently asked
Are page totals excluded from the export?
Yes. Totals and carried-forward lines are recognised and used for the balance check, not exported as transactions.
Will the running balance be checked?
Yes. Every page is checked from the Opening Balance to the Closing Balance, and any mismatch is shown before you download.
Does it work for ANZ New Zealand statements?
Yes. The layout differs slightly, but Kashf detects it from the document and keeps NZD amounts as they are.
