Convert Starling Bank statements to Excel
Starling's PDF has six narrow columns, and generic converters tend to merge Counter party and Reference or drop the Type column entirely. Negative amounts in a single column are often lost when the file is opened in a spreadsheet with text formatting.
- ✓ Running balance checked on every page
- ✓ Arabic, English and bilingual statements
- ✓ Files deleted within 24 hours, never used for training

About Starling Bank statement PDFs
- Starling statements are downloaded from the app or Online Banking under Statements, as PDF for a month or custom range, for personal, joint, business and euro accounts.
- The PDF shows Date, Counter party, Reference, Type, Amount (GBP) and Balance (GBP), so each line carries a running balance.
- The Type column uses labels such as FASTER PAYMENT, CONTACTLESS, DIRECT DEBIT, CHIP AND PIN, ONLINE and INTEREST.
- Starling also offers a native CSV export with the same columns plus Spending Category and Notes, and Spaces are shown as transfers.
- Dates are UK day-first (DD/MM/YYYY), and the PDF includes the account's sort code, account number and IBAN in the header.

- Download. Every row balance-checked. Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (QBO), Xero, OFX. Edit anything first.
Frequently asked
Do I keep Counter party, Reference and Type as separate columns?
Yes. All six Starling columns are preserved exactly, and you can additionally split Amount into Debit and Credit if your software needs that.
Will the running balance be checked?
Yes. Every page is checked against the Balance (GBP) column, so a misread minus sign is caught before export.
Does it work for Starling euro accounts?
Yes. The currency is read from the statement, and the export keeps EUR amounts without conversion.
